  • Jury Awards $1,900,000 in Medical Malpractice Case Against Sibley Hospital

    On August 16, 2001, Andrew Greenwald obtained a jury verdict of $1,900,000 in a medical malpractice case that he tried in the District of Columbia against Sibley Hospital.

  • Malpractice Settlement of $1,043,000 for Meningitis Case.

Andrew Greenwald recently settled a medical malpractice case involving meningitis for $1,043,000.

Practice

Mr. Greenwald has handled some of the largest medical malpractice cases in Maryland, including over 30 cases in which there were jury verdicts or settlements of more than one million dollars. He is a founding member and shareholder of Joseph, Greenwald, and Laake, P.A., where he conducts and oversees litigation of medical malpractice, product liability, personal injury, and other civil litigation matters. He has argued before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals, Maryland Court of Appeals, United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Greenwald is also a national public speaker-frequently appearing before legal audiences at the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and other bar associations-where he has given over 100 lectures and seminars on various legal topics. He has also lectured to medical and dental groups. He has contributed to national legal publications and instructional legal tape seminars. As a 1964 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Mr. Greenwald earned his juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center in 1967. He is named in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who in the World.
